FUNCTION OF FREED SB-50 AND SB-501 .........

Fill the FREED, cup with grease, The specially desi-

gned spring dispenses the grease uniformly from reservoir, as it goes from being full to being empty. Constant spring pressure on the grease removes the risk of excessive or insufficient lubrication. According to the inside condition of bearing and it's revolution speed grease Will be supplied AUTOMATICALLY in the desired quantity.

GREASE/SUPPLY METHOD  ...........................

∙Concentration method : NLGL or 1

∙FREED method (Automatic Lubricator):NLGL 1 or 2

 Compared with oil-lubricating the supply method

 is more important than the diameter or speed of

 shaft at grease-lubricating.

GREASE/INJECTION AND LIFE  .....................

The length of the bearing's life is extremely varia-

ble according to it's use.

It can be affected by flow of air, vibration, dust

and moisture.

But load and speed have the strongest effect.

70~80% of troubles of machinery are caused by the careless lubricant supply.

EXAMPLES OF USE................................................

∙Various industrial machines : elevator, escalator,

   machine tool, blower, compressor,  pump,

   rotary machinery, etc.

∙Various construction machines : crane,

   conveyor, etc.

∙Various ships : liner, cargo boat, fishing boat,

   etc.

METHOD OF INSTALLATION.................................

The thread size of FREED cups is 1/8" NPT.

If the thread size of FREED does not fit your mac-

hine, you may use adapter, pipe or elbow etc.

You can install FREED cups regardless of direction and angle.

NOTE WHEN PIPING  .........................................

1) Clean the adapter and pipe.

2) Fill the pipe with grease.

RESISTANCE IN THE LUBRICATING PIPE ARE

INFLUENCED BY: ................................................

1) Viscosity of the grease

2) Connecting part of the pipe

3) Slope of the bend

4) Outside temperature

5) Condition of the inside surface of pipe

※ Note: Never use grease over NLGI 2 in FREED cups.

GREASING METHODS  ........................

There are three methods of lubricating bearings

1. Bearing without nipple, in sealed cover

   a. take off the cover

   b. clean out the used grease

   c. fill the bearing with new grease

2. Bearing with nipple,

   Using the grease-gun, inject grease until it

   leaks from the outlet.

3. Bearing, with attached FREED GREASE CUPS

   This method constantly injects fresh grease.

   We recommend using FREED grease cups as

   the best method.
